Our client was keen to get the stunning metallic black and red paintwork on his his brand new Aprilia Tuono V4 protected so he approached us for a solution. Unfortunately, as his bike was the latest 2021 model, there wasn’t an ‘off the shelf’ paint protection film pattern already available and, as his main concern was the detrimental effects caused by stone chips and road rash, a ceramic coating wasn’t going to be a suitable option.
“Not to worry” we chirped up… “we’ll design a kit for you” was our response and, to our clients delight, arrangements were made for the motorcycle to be delivered to our workshop a few days later. Having listened to our client’s main concerns and discussed the various options with him, we sent him on his merry way, happy in the knowledge that his pride and joy was in safe hands. We proceeded to carry out a full safe wash and de-contamination prior to wheeling his steed into our clean room so that we could pamper it with a little TLC before commencing the PPF design process.
By tapping in to our in-house resources, i.e: many years of practical experience installing paint protection film, a first hand knowledge of motorcycle riding and the challenges thrown up by our great British roads when it comes to protecting your paintwork, together with a wealth of creative expertise (assisted by our CAD expert, of course), we were able to deliver a protective solution like no other and without compromise.
Following a little tinkering and a few tweaks here and there, we successfully designed and fitted a comprehensive self-healing paint protection film kit that covered all of the high impact and abrasion prone areas of the bike. The optically clear, UV stable, hydrophobic and stain resistant properties of the PPF film also meant that the bike would repel water and dirt more effectively, be easier to keep clean and wouldn’t develop any unsightly marks or contamination in the paintwork over time.
The kit design and installation was carried out in a timely fashion, taking only a week to complete (a working week is 6 days to us!) and we didn’t charge any extra for the development as it was a mutually beneficial arrangement – we now have a 2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 kit in our PPF product catalogue. The client arranged to collect his bike the following week in anticipation of a trip to the dealership for his running in service.
In Italian, the word ‘Tuono’ translates as ‘Thunder’… let’s hope the only rumble to be heard on the day of his appointment was the sound of a sweet V4.
