North West Blood Bikes BMW R1250RT

We were recently approached by the Lancashire and Lakes division of North West Blood Bikes to prepare a brand new 2021 model year BMW R1250RT for the road. This new addition to their extensive motorcycle fleet required full application of fluorescent vinyl wrap and conspicuity markings as the brief was simply “to make it highly visible in all conditions”.

As this was a new 2021 model year motorcycle, supplied directly to North West Blood Bikes by official BMW Motorrad dealer Allan Jefferies in West Yorkshire, the bike features a newly designed front fairing, nose cone and headlamp cluster. Due to these changes, a pre-cut vinyl kit or pattern (that had been used on previous BMW R1250RT motorcycles) was not readily available so we set to work designing and plotting a completely new kit from scratch. The result is a motorcycle which features a stunning new, modern and stylish graphic design that covers over 90% of the bodywork – more coverage than ever achieved before – and, together with improved conspicuity markings, we have fulfilled our brief and delivered a motorcycle that features exceptional visibility in all riding conditions, including inclement weather and during night time operation. This motorcycle can now be put to work delivering vital blood products throughout the North West and, ultimately, saving lives.

As with all regional divisions, North West Blood Bikes rely solely on charitable donations to keep their fleet on the road, not to mention their volunteers who work tirelessly and are on call at weekends, bank holidays and out of hours, delivering vital blood supplies and emergency items to the NHS.
